A lot of people think that bingo is a game for OAP’s. They imagine their grandmother or grandfather playing bingo together with other “oldies” in the bingo club. But this is just a stereotypical image, times have changed now…

A game for everyone

Bingo has become a very popular game, also for young people. It is not your age, social background or race that determines if you can be a bingo player or not. Bingo is appreciated by a lot of people all over the world now. It is not only played at senior citizens’ centers but also at parties, family gatherings, casinos, clubs, and online.

Facts

Studies show that there are about 100 million bingo players worldwide. 80% of the bingo players are women between 30 and 50 years old. Generally speaking, we could say that the stay-at-home moms are a huge bingo fan because it lets them interact with other people and chat with old and new friends. So for them, bingo is not just a game anymore, it is an entertainment community and a medium to develop their social network. The other 20% of bingo players are men in the same age range. It is strange that so many young people think that bingo is a game for OAP’s, while only a small number of bingo players are over the age of 65 (male or female).

Online bingo is gaining popularity. About 85% of bingo players play online bingo and more than 50% of the bingo players play it daily.

So, today bingo has become a popular game that is appreciated by a lot of people worldwide. The game is so “hot” nowadays, that there is even an annual Bingo World Conference.
